Nepali New Year marks the first day of Bikram Sambat, the official calendar of Nepal, and is always a national holiday within the country. Cambodian New Year, also known as Choul Chnam Thmey and Moha Sangkranta, or just Sangkranta, is the traditional celebration of the solar new year in Cambodia. Thingyan is the Myanmar New Year festival. Lao New Year is a popular English name for a traditional celebration known in Laos as “Pi Mai” or “Songkran.” They all take place in the middle of April. Our Laotian, Burmese, Khmer, and Nepali familes celebrated together sharing delicious food with the rest or our school community.
