This year, Key third grade joined the “Dream Team” of BalletX, an organiziation that provides a contemporary ballet experience. The performance was held at the Mandell Theatre. After many months of practice, our third graders looked like professional dancers. Great job third grade!
“Read Across America” week was celebrated at Key. There were many activities scheduled. Students were able to make their own bookmarks on Monday, wear clothes that represented their favorite sports team on Tuesday, read the same book on Wednesday, attend the Key “Book Cafe” on Thursda, and enjoy “Pajama Day” on Friday. Our school acknowledged and celebrated Black History Month with many activities. Some of these activities included Read-Alouds by guest readers, a musical program, speeches from students about significant historical events in Black history, and a door decorating contest.
We were so excited yet again to host the Philadelphia Suns at Key school for a performance of the Lion Dance. The Lion Dance is said to bring good fortune and good luck. Whether it does or not, everyone had a great time!
For the first time the “FSK Lego Stars” robotics team advanced to regional competitions, which will be held in Januray. The team also won an award for best robot design. Go team!
One Saturday a month our beautiful new library is open to our families to come and read a book, play a game, or catch up on homework. Some of our teachers are here to help. Join us if you can!
Our wonderful choir lead by Music Teacher Ms. Camacho once again participated in this year’s All-City Choir. The music was wonderful and everyone had a great time!
