This spring Key was fortunate to be part of “Photography Without Borders,” which has been teaching youth how to tell their powerful, personal stories using traditional and digital photographic techniques since 2009. They started working with schools and students in north Philadelphia, but this year they included us here at Key in South Philadelphia. Our students learned so many wonderful photo technoques as they explored our community and culture. We look forward to working with them again!
The group started with journaling about themselves and their families.
The students then started thinking about their families and community in order to get ready to take photos with their teacher.
Then they opened their boxes with new cameras!
